PNG Update: We have had a busy week and seen God do amazing things! The showing of The Art of Marriage seminar was a huge success. There were over 125 people who attended. On Wednesday, Paul and Pastor Magi drove out to the Abau church - the newest NWC funded church. It is 3+ hours from Port Moresby on rutty roads. The church already has 120 attending services. We were able to meet with Sam Abaul, the minster of foreign affairs, and pray for him as he begins campaigning for this upcoming election. Also, he had a cpap machine that he no longer uses and he has lent it to Paul. It is helping Paul get more rest and his energy back. Thursday Shari spent time with the Life Skills group which is training the settlement and literacy women to sew, cook, etc. She spoke and encouraged the female pastors and pastors' wives and did a team-building exercise with them. Paul spent time with Pastor Christine and Pastor Jonathan, encouraging them in their ministries with the Academy and youth. Friday was a pastors meeting and we spoke to the youth on God's calling for their lives. Saturday morning Shari is speaking to the UFW ladies while Paul speaks at the Father/Son breakfast. We will be speaking on relationships and men/women differences to the university medical students this evening. About our health, Shari began to walk without her cane on Monday. She has a small amount of pain and a little limp, but is claiming God's healing!! Paul had now had 2 decent nights of sleep. The cpap machine from Australia has arrived in Port Moresby but no one seems to know where it is. Pastor Christine has a friend trying to track it down. And if they find it, we will have to pay another $180 kina to get it (the corruption of a third-world country). We are preparing to go to Alotau and the Wagawaga church. They called yesterday to say that the town of Wagawaga is underwater because of all the rain - people are using canoes to get from house to house. During the pastors meeting, they checked the church and called to say it is okay. As the pastors prayed God caused the waters to recede, and the Wagawaga contact called to say that the water was already down in the city. But we know that the attacks of the enemy will not prevail and there will be victory. Thank you for your continued prayers! Love, Paul & Shari
